Stainless steel is more expensive than cast iron for the same weight, but as a housing for the same powered motor, stainless steel is much cheaper than cast iron. The main reason is that the stainless steel motor casing is very thin, only 2 mm thick, with weak impact resistance and general safety and stability. The cost will be higher than the plastic motor housing. A few low-end external pump lifts use motors with stainless steel casings.

Thermal conductivity: about 42-90, which makes up for some defects of plastic casing and stainless steel casing, and is widely used in the casing of various motor products. The cast iron shell is made thicker, and the external surface is anti-corrosion and impact resistance is also very good. However, the cast iron casing is usually very thick and has poor heat generation. It is generally used for the casing of the submersible pump motor and needs to be cooled by water. For the same power motor, the cast iron motor housing costs more than the stainless steel motor housing. However, the external lift motor has poor heat generation and poor stability.

Cast aluminum alloy

Import coefficient: 138-147, high thermal conductivity, high calorific value! The thermal conductivity is four times that of iron, and the density is only one-third that of iron. Pure aluminum is soft, and anti-corrosion, oxidation-resistant and wear-resistant metal components are added to aluminum, and a special process is used to make aluminum-based alloys. The strength of this cast aluminum alloy is already about the same as good steel hardness, but the manufacturing cost will rise a lot.
